Flo Health Expands Global Operations with 130 New Roles, Strengthening Women's Health Innovation

London-based femtech leader Flo Health is scaling up its global operations with a major expansion in Lithuania, creating 130 new positions in its Vilnius office. This move follows Flo’s remarkable growth trajectory, underscored by its €180 million Series C funding round in July 2024, which propelled the company to unicorn status with a valuation of approximately €946 million.

Empowering Women’s Health Globally

Since its founding in 2015, Flo Health has emerged as a trailblazer in women’s health technology, offering a platform for cycle and ovulation tracking used by 70 million active users monthly. With over 380 million downloads worldwide, Flo Health is on a mission to empower women with better health insights, supported by a team of over 120 health experts. Impressively, the app serves one in six women in the United States and has become the first female health app to achieve dual certification in Privacy and Security ISO standards, underscoring its commitment to user safety.

Lithuania: A Growing Hub for Femtech Innovation

Flo’s Vilnius office, established in 2020, has played a pivotal role in the company’s global operations, hosting senior leadership and spearheading key planning initiatives. With this expansion, the Lithuanian office will grow its workforce to over 350 employees across its Lithuanian and UK offices, further solidifying its role as a strategic hub.

Lithuania's robust talent pool, particularly in science, technology, and engineering, has been a significant draw for Flo Health. Roman Bugaev, Chief Technology Officer at Flo Health, highlighted this advantage:

“Lithuania leads the EU with 64% of women in science and technology. This wealth of experience not only enhances our capabilities but also drives innovation within our teams.”

The nation’s thriving startup ecosystem, supported by over 900 startups and strong government backing, has provided fertile ground for collaboration and growth. Elijus Čivilis, General Manager at Invest Lithuania, celebrated Flo’s decision:

“In Lithuania, Flo Health found the perfect environment to develop a product with global impact. This growth demonstrates our country’s potential to be a global tech innovation hub, where innovators like Flo Health can transform ideas into world-leading solutions.”

What’s Next for Flo Health?

With this expansion, Flo aims to bolster its capabilities in engineering, product development, and marketing to advance its mission of delivering personalised, tech-driven healthcare solutions to women worldwide. The funding from its Series C round will further enhance its global reach and position as a leader in femtech innovation.

In addition to operational growth, Flo Health continues to cement its influence in the European startup ecosystem. Tamara Orlova, Flo Health’s Chief Financial Officer, will speak at the EU-Startups Summit 2025 in April, sharing insights into the company’s success and its vision for the future of women’s health.

Advancing Women’s Health Through Technology

Flo Health’s expansion underscores the growing importance of femtech as a transformative force in healthcare. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and tapping into diverse talent pools, Flo is advancing personalised care for women while addressing critical gaps in health research and innovation.

This growth not only marks a new chapter for Flo Health but also highlights the potential for femtech companies to create meaningful, global impact in women’s healthcare—an achievement worth celebrating.
