Just one year after launching its first multidisciplinary health clinic, Paris-based female health startup Sorella has successfully raised €5 million in a funding round to enhance female healthcare across France and beyond. The round was led by blisce/, a B Corp-certified impact investment firm known for its focus on social and environmental responsibility, with participation from Vorwerk Ventures, a Berlin-based VC specializing in the future of health, food, and climate.
The new capital will be used to bolster Sorella’s integrated care services, improve its digital platform, and expand its network of health clinics dedicated to women. Sorella plans to open three new clinics in 2024, aiming to establish a total of 12 clinics across France by 2026.
Founded in 2022 by Clémence Lejeune, Jeanne Theuret, and Youssef Benhaddou, Sorella offers a unique hybrid healthcare model tailored specifically for women. Their network of multidisciplinary health spaces provides comprehensive care pathways for women at every stage of life, from puberty to post-menopause.
Sorella’s hybrid approach combines physical clinics with advanced digital solutions to streamline healthcare workflows and enhance patient care. These digital tools also play a crucial role in patient education, prevention, and health screenings, which are vital for improving women’s health outcomes. Each Sorella clinic has the capacity to serve up to 10,000 patients annually.
“This funding marks a significant milestone in Sorella’s journey, enabling us to accelerate our growth in France and beyond while continuing to innovate in healthcare pathways and prevention. It’s a strong endorsement of our model and our mission to improve women’s health,” said Clémence Lejeune, co-founder of Sorella.
Currently, 32% of women in France report anxiety about managing their health, compared to 20% of men. Sorella aims to address this by ensuring that women have access to comprehensive, tailored healthcare that considers their specific physical and physiological needs.
“Today, 60% of women in France are disengaging from their healthcare journey. This is a major public health challenge. We believe Sorella’s multidisciplinary and hybrid approach, combining physical and digital care, will have a significant impact on women’s health. We’re thrilled to support the Sorella team in shaping the future of healthcare,” said Alexandre Mars, Founder and CEO of blisce/.
Sorella places the patient at the center of their health journey, offering a welcoming and safe environment where care coordination among professionals is prioritized. Multidisciplinary meetings and the role of a care coordinator, inspired by hospital practices, ensure seamless care.
“As long-time advocates in female healthcare, we are excited to support Sorella in building the next generation of healthcare for women. Their hybrid model is leading the way toward a more holistic and transformative approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being,” commented Katharina Neuhaus, Principal at Vorwerk Ventures.
Sorella’s digital platform enhances patient management, streamlines internal processes, and improves post-consultation follow-up. This allows healthcare professionals to focus fully on patient care, free from administrative burdens, creating a more efficient and less stressful work environment.
